Southern Urogynecology

Center for Incontinence and Female Pelvic Medicine

Southern Urogynecology is the first and only center exclusively dedicated to urogynecological services in the Columbia Metropolitan Area and is an affiliate of the Institute for Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery.

This premier center will include clinical and surgical management of female urinary issues, including stress urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunctions, pelvic organ prolapse and any other female pelvic disorders. The Founder and Medical Director of the Center is Andrea Pezzella, MD.

Dr. Pezzella graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed her residency training at Hartford Hospital, in Hartford, CT. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology with additional training in Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery. After leaving the Fallon Clinic, Inc. in Worcester, MA where she developed the Urogynecology Program, she relocated to South Carolina.

With 10 years of experience providing services to manage and treat women with various urinary incontinence issues, voiding dysfunctions and pelvic organ prolapse she opened Southern Urogynecology to exclusively address these issues and better serve the women and referring physicians.
